Take a Frozen Heart to the Iceveil cave
To summon the Slayers 2 Yeti boss, get a Frozen Heart from a Rare Chest and travel to the Yeti cave near Butterfly Estate in Iceveil Valley. Keep the heart in your inventory and hold the interaction key shown on screen, currently T, until the encounter begins.
The main reward is the Emberheart Lantern. The launch Yeti route lists a 25% drop chance, so several empty kills are normal. Equipping the lantern does not instantly grant maximum cold protection either. Stand beside an Iceveil campfire to charge Cold Immunity, which currently caps at ten minutes.
Updated for the September 2026 launch build. Check the current tooltip after a patch in case the 25% lantern rate or ten-minute charge changes.
What you need before the trip
| Requirement | Where or how to get it | Why you need it |
|---|---|---|
| Frozen Heart | Rare Chests; farm a boss or activity that awards them | Summons the Yeti at its cave |
| Iceveil access | Travel through the snow region toward Butterfly Estate | Reaches the summon cave |
| Cold survival plan | Move between campfires, heal, and minimize exposure | The valley deals ticking cold damage |
| Spawn or party plan | Nearby spawn access or a group | Reduces the cost of failed attempts |
| Stable combat loop | Block or evade, read the end of a string, punish briefly | Prevents a low-level character from trading every hit |
Check that the Frozen Heart is visible in inventory before crossing Iceveil. The Yeti is not a normal boss waiting at a marker. An empty cave without the summon item does not mean the encounter is broken.
Farm a Frozen Heart from Rare Chests
Frozen Hearts drop from Rare Chests. The launch route begins at the starter-village shrine and repeatedly fights a boss that awards that chest tier. The number of attempts is random, so count opened chests rather than expecting the heart on a certain kill.
Choose a boss you can defeat cleanly. A fast, easy fight produces more chest rolls per hour than a harder boss that sends you back to spawn. Set a close spawn when available, prepare your basic weapon and skills, and open each chest before leaving. Once the Frozen Heart appears, stop. A single summon only needs one.
Open your inventory before traveling and read the item name. Other frozen items cannot replace it because the cave interaction specifically checks for a Frozen Heart.
Find the cave near Butterfly Estate
The cave is on the Iceveil Valley route near Butterfly Estate. Locate the estate on the world map, then follow the snowy approach rather than searching the whole region. Its summon entrance differs from the standing-boss routes used for Doma or Tengai.
Cold damage ticks while you are exposed. On your first trip, you do not have the lantern you came to farm, so move from campfire to campfire and skip unnecessary enemies. Recover health and reduce cold pressure whenever the path offers shelter. A teammate with a lantern can guide the way, but the player starting a personal attempt still needs a Frozen Heart.
Activate Frost Veil Shrine if you pass it so later trips are shorter. Confirm your spawn plan before using the heart. Dying in the cave is much worse when the character returns on the other side of the map.
Start the encounter
Stand at the cave interaction point with the Frozen Heart in your inventory. Hold T, or whatever key the current prompt shows, until it completes and the boss health bar appears. Do not tap the key and immediately walk away.
If the Yeti does not spawn, check these items in order:
- Make sure the inventory item is named Frozen Heart.
- Confirm that you are at the Yeti cave near Butterfly Estate in Iceveil Valley.
- Hold the interaction for its full duration.
- Check whether another player’s active Yeti is blocking a new summon.
- Read the current prompt in case an update changed the requirement.
Prepare for a longer fight
The launch Yeti route establishes the summon and reward flow but does not give a dependable list of named attacks. Read the animations on the live boss instead of memorizing made-up move names.
Lower-level players should bring a group or arrange a nearby respawn. The set-spawn feature cuts the travel penalty after a death, while grouping offers a route that does not depend on that purchase. In a party, one player can hold attention while the others attack from the side, then everyone rotates when the Yeti changes targets.
Health, stamina, regeneration, and block capacity matter before optional damage nodes. A slower successful fight still earns the reward. Spending the whole stamina bar on the first opening leaves no dash for the answer.
Read the Yeti one string at a time
Watch before attacking
Move into range, then block or retreat through one full attack string. Count the committed actions and find the pause at the end. Keep the camera on the boss and avoid backing directly into the cave wall.
Take a small confirmed punish
Use a short basic combo or one quick ability during the first clear pause. Save enough stamina to leave. If the Yeti starts moving before your last hit, make the next punish shorter instead of trying to win the trade.
Return to open ground
Move away from walls and put the boss back in the center of the screen. Party members should spread so one target switch does not hit the whole group. Only revive or recover while the Yeti is committed to another player.
Add the long animation later
After the short punish works several times, try the longer damage ability inside that same opening. An interruption means the window is too small for that move. Go back to the reliable attack instead of forcing it.
The watch, punish, and reset rhythm remains useful even when balance changes adjust damage or timing.
Farm the Emberheart Lantern
The Emberheart Lantern is listed as a Legendary Yeti drop with a 25% chance. That percentage does not promise one lantern every four summons, and another player’s quick drop does not change your next roll.
Track the number of summons, completed kills, and actual reward checks. If you die and someone else finishes the fight, do not assume it counted for you. Check what the live reward system gave your character. Groups rotating Frozen Hearts should decide who starts each encounter before anyone interacts.
| Farming problem | Better response |
|---|---|
| No lantern after several kills | Continue only with spare Frozen Hearts; no fixed pity is shown |
| Frozen Hearts run out | Return to the fastest reliable Rare Chest farm |
| Travel takes longer than the fight | Activate Frost Veil Shrine and set a closer spawn |
| Cold damage drains healing | Route through campfires and minimize idle time outdoors |
| Group loses control of the boss | Spread out and rotate aggro instead of stacking |
Charge the Lantern at a campfire
Equip the Emberheart Lantern when it drops. Cold damage can continue until the item has a charge. Stand next to one of Iceveil Valley’s campfires and watch the Cold Immunity timer rise in the lower-left part of the HUD.
The current maximum is ten minutes. Charge enough time for the route before leaving the fire. The lantern is a renewable protection tool, not a permanent passive that can be equipped once and forgotten.
Top it up before a long boss loop and keep an eye on the remaining timer. Stop at another campfire before it expires so cold damage does not begin during a fight. Check the charge again after death, a server change, or an equipment swap.
FAQ
Where is the Yeti boss in Slayers 2?
The Yeti is summoned in a cave near Butterfly Estate along the Iceveil Valley route.
What item summons the Yeti?
You need a Frozen Heart from a Rare Chest. Hold the interaction key at the cave while the heart is in your inventory.
What does the Yeti drop?
The key target is the Emberheart Lantern. The launch route lists it as a Legendary drop with a 25% chance.
Why am I still taking cold damage with the Lantern?
Equip it, then stand near an Iceveil campfire to build the Cold Immunity timer. The current timer caps at ten minutes.
Can a low-level player beat the Yeti?
Yes, but use a group or nearby spawn plan. Read a full attack string, punish only the recovery, and keep stamina for the next dodge instead of trading hits.
