Choose an art for the fight you play most
There is no single Slayers 2 Blood Demon Arts pick for every player. Blood Sickles has excellent launch-period boss pressure. Cryokinesis controls enemies with freezes and a counter. Dream Manipulation lets you attack moving targets from a safer distance, while Speed Augmentation is built around mobility. Keep the first capable kit during progression. Reroll once you can say exactly what range, control, damage, or movement problem the replacement needs to solve.
The game also calls these abilities Evil Arts in some quests and menus. Becoming a Demon lets you roll one, but the roll is only the beginning. Every art has training objectives and a skill tree with moves purchased individually.
Updated September 20, 2026. Damage, cooldowns, and control duration can change, so read the current skill cards before spending resources.
What each Blood Demon Art is good at
| Art | Combat identity | Best use | Main weakness |
|---|---|---|---|
| Blood Sickles / Blood Manipulation | High damage, stuns, boss pressure | Boss farming and general PvE | Requires Sickles for the route |
| Cryokinesis | Freeze control, counter, hyper armor | Boss control and close-range safety | Needs careful cooldown sequencing |
| Dream Manipulation | Tracking and ranged pressure | Safe farming and moving targets | Slower clear than the top burst option |
| Speed Augmentation / Slasher | Mobility and aggressive engagement | Fast combat and repositioning | Less dominant than the top boss kit |
| Destructive Death | Balanced damage and farming | Early and mid progression | Lower endgame ceiling than top arts |
| Combustible Blood | General ranged/burst utility | Flexible progression | Does not dominate a single role |
| Arrow | Movement and displacement tools | Utility and creative combos | Easier for targets to avoid when predictable |
| Temari | Projectile pressure | Players who master spacing | Slow, readable attacks in current rankings |
| Flesh/Obi Manipulation | Setup-based attacks | Niche play | Weak launch performance in current comparisons |
Some players use a character-inspired name while the menu shows the formal art label. Match the icon and skill description when you roll so you do not mistake two names for separate abilities.
Unlocking and training your art
Finish Muzan’s transformation quests first, then return to Muzan’s Lair and use the art roll system. Inspect the roll before deciding whether to keep it. Training can include timing minigames, target practice, and combat tasks, with a different sequence for each art. Follow the active quest marker through the route.
Blood Manipulation adds one extra equipment check. You need Sickles from Hoyuzo in the cave beneath the bear area before its training can proceed. The other documented launch arts follow their standard training chains.
Once training is complete, open the art’s skill tree. The game does not hand you every move at once. Buy a reliable opener and one damage skill before putting points into expensive situational branches. Arrow users, for example, unlock moves such as Arrow Flight, Arrow Eruption, and Triclaw Reversal one at a time.
Give the rotation four jobs
A working build needs a way to enter, deal damage, survive the answer, and leave safely:
- Pick an opener that can reach or control the target.
- Follow it with damage that connects consistently.
- Save a movement or defensive answer for retaliation.
- End with a finisher or reset that leaves you safe as cooldowns start.
Practice on a normal enemy before taking it to a boss. If the target escapes between the opener and the damage skill, shorten the chain. If the whole bar is on cooldown after one attempt, cut the least valuable cast and preserve the escape.
What matters in PvE
PvE favors repeatable damage, area coverage, and safe recovery. Blood Sickles leads because its damage and stuns can stabilize boss attempts. Cryokinesis follows with freezes and defensive tools. Dream Manipulation clears more slowly but keeps fights safer by tracking moving targets from range.
| PvE problem | Art trait to value | Practical test |
|---|---|---|
| Boss interrupts your combo | Stun, freeze, hyper armor | Can you finish the main damage move? |
| Groups spread apart | Area damage or tracking | Can one rotation hit multiple targets? |
| You lose health during recovery | Range, counter, or mobility | Can you disengage before retaliation? |
| Farming is too slow | Short cooldown and repeatable damage | Time three identical enemy packs |
Run the same camp several times instead of judging one lucky burst. The best farming art is the one that repeats its clear without consuming every cooldown and health resource.
What changes in PvP
PvP is harder to rank because player movement and prediction matter more than a farming chart. Tracking attacks help against strafing, but an experienced opponent can bait a predictable cast. A freeze or stun only matters when you have a confirmed follow-up. Mobility is most valuable when saved for a punish or escape, not spent automatically at the start.
Learn the exact range of one opener, then practice a second timing for it. When the opponent has a full ability bar, keep one defensive option ready. If your sequence gets blocked, restore spacing rather than repeating the same buttons in the same order.
Keep a solid art until you have a reason to leave
Blood Sickles, Cryokinesis, Dream Manipulation, and Speed Augmentation are easy keeps unless you are targeting a very specific build. Destructive Death and Combustible Blood can carry progression and do not need an instant reroll. Test the complete Temari, Arrow, or Obi kit before replacing it. A low letter grade is not worth draining a small spin balance while you are still learning Demon combat.
Good reasons to reroll are concrete. Perhaps your route needs range, a boss keeps breaking your combo, or the art’s required weapon conflicts with the rest of the build. Another player’s graphic using a different letter is not a combat problem.
Spend skill-tree points in a useful order
Do not buy scattered moves from every branch. Start with the ability that reliably opens combat, then add the damage move that connects after it. Movement or defense comes third. Save the long-cooldown finisher until the basic loop already works. A partially trained art with a complete short sequence is much more useful than four unrelated buttons.
Arrow users should test Arrow Flight as movement separately from Arrow Eruption and Triclaw Reversal. Freeze builds should keep one control move for the enemy’s response instead of stacking every freeze at the opening. Blood Sickles should prioritize the sequence that holds a boss still long enough for its damage to land. Node values can change, so follow the prerequisites and previews shown in the live tree.
| Purchase stage | Required job | Test before spending again |
|---|---|---|
| First | Reliable opener or approach | Connect on a moving normal enemy |
| Second | Repeatable damage | Finish one quest target without every cooldown |
| Third | Escape, counter, or control | Survive the enemy’s return attack |
| Fourth | Area clear or finisher | Improve a timed pack or boss test |
Pair the art with the right clan and weapon
Your clan should reinforce what the art already does. Kamado gives Demons broad damage, regeneration, and sun immunity. Douma helps defensive dueling and Demon progression. A poison clan is worthwhile only if your build applies poison often. During training, experience or drop luck from a farming clan can add more value than a narrow PvP passive.
Weapon choice follows the same logic. Blood Manipulation specifically needs Hoyuzo’s Sickles. With other arts, look for safe basic attacks during ability cooldowns, a useful status effect, or an extra movement tool. An art will feel weaker than it is if the weapon leaves you unable to apply pressure between casts.
Fix a weak rotation before rerolling
Low damage often starts with poor positioning. Check whether the opener puts the enemy inside the next hitbox. If the target escapes, shorten the chain or hold the control skill until after its first dodge. Put long animations behind a freeze, stun, or confirmed knockdown if you take damage on every cast. For slow farming, alternate a basic weapon string with two short-cooldown abilities instead of emptying the entire bar into the first enemy.
Test on identical enemies and change only one thing each attempt. That will tell you whether the opener, order, equipment, or art is the real limit. Many weak-looking arts are simply unfinished or use their control move at the wrong moment.
A practical first hour as a Demon
Keep a playable art, finish its training, unlock a small complete rotation, and run Muzan’s contracts or a suitable enemy camp. Invest in survival and stamina if attacks keep interrupting you. Add more damage once the loop is stable. Save the first boss attempt until normal enemies no longer consume every resource.
This route is stronger than chasing an S-tier roll on an undeveloped character. A trained A-tier or B-tier art with movement, skill points, and a compatible weapon will beat an untrained top result.
FAQ
What are Blood Demon Arts called in Slayers 2?
The live progression also uses the term Evil Arts. Both refer to the Demon-side supernatural combat system.
What is the best Blood Demon Art for PvE?
Blood Sickles leads current boss and farming comparisons, with Cryokinesis close behind for control and safety.
Which art is easiest for safe leveling?
Dream Manipulation is a strong safe choice because tracking and range reduce the need to stand directly beside a boss.
Why can I not train Blood Manipulation?
Obtain the Sickles weapon from Hoyuzo in the cave beneath the bear area, then continue its training route.
Do I unlock every move after training?
No. Training unlocks the art route; individual moves are purchased through its skill tree.
