Bring cold protection before entering

Iceveil Valley deals continuous frost damage in the snow. Equip current snow gear before entering, or carry an Ember Heart Lantern and charge its immunity at a campfire. Turn back if your health drains faster than you can travel. Extra levels will not replace the region’s protection mechanic.

The valley joins the normal progression route around levels 90 to 145. It contains tougher enemies, the Sound and Wind trainers, Muzan search territory, and the Yeti path. Pick an objective, activate a nearby spawn, and keep watching the cold-immunity timer.

Iceveil values can change with balance updates. Check the live item card for protection duration and the active quest text for level requirements.

Reach Iceveil Valley at the right time

Slayer leveling moves through Windy Peak, Bamboo Grove, the Kaiden and Wagwan routes, Final Selection, Dreamfall Hollow, and Mistfall Harbor before Iceveil becomes the main quest region. Rushing into the snow at level 30 only adds cold damage and enemies beyond your current quest band.

These bands overlap. Move when the Iceveil quest giver accepts you and your build can clear snow targets without long recovery breaks.

Choose your cold protection

You have two ways to handle the cold. Lynx at the Winter Store sells snow gear that reduces frost damage. The Ember Heart Lantern grants temporary cold immunity after you charge it beside a campfire.

OptionHow it worksBest use
Snow gearEquip the current winter item from LynxRegular leveling and repeated valley routes
Ember Heart LanternEquip it, stand by a snow-biome campfire, and build an immunity timerYeti farming and longer trips when the lantern is available
Healing aloneReplaces lost health but does not stop frostEmergency return only

For the Ember Heart Lantern route, obtain a Frozen Heart from rare chests, then use it at the Yeti interaction to summon the boss. The launch fight lists the lantern as a legendary drop with a 25 percent chance, so one kill does not guarantee it.

After equipping the lantern, stand close to a campfire and watch the cold-immunity indicator in the lower-left corner. It can charge up to ten minutes in the September 2026 build. Leave only after the timer is high enough for the planned route.

Enter, set spawn, and find a campfire

Use the first visit to establish a safe loop:

  1. Cross into the snow with protection already equipped.
  2. Set the nearest available spawn point.
  3. Locate a campfire before taking a distant quest.
  4. Identify the return path to the settlement or valley entrance.
  5. Accept only objectives that fit inside the current immunity window.

Do not wait until the timer is nearly empty before turning around. Cliffs, combat, and a wrong branch can consume the final minutes. Begin the return with a buffer or recharge at the next known fire.

Find the Iceveil quest NPCs

Wounded Slayer Tomoi handles the first snow-region quests around level 90. Iceveil Guard Shiro covers the next level band around 100. Demon Slayer Mitsu waits farther up the slopes and offers the frost-Demon route from roughly 105 through 145.

Use the quest marker with the settlement, upward slope, and deeper cliff route. Tomoi and Shiro are in the earlier valley section. Reaching Mitsu means you have entered the later farm.

Stack a Kasugai Crow mission when it targets the same enemy. One route can then advance character level, Breathing mastery, and two quest turn-ins. If the Crow sends you back across the world, finish the local snow objectives first.

Reach the Yeti boss

The Yeti route begins after you have a Frozen Heart. Butterfly Estate works as a starting anchor. From that map position, follow the route toward the Yeti arena and interact with the boss point while the Frozen Heart is in your inventory. Hold the displayed interaction key to begin the fight.

Before summoning:

  • Charge the Ember Heart Lantern if you already own one, or equip your best current snow gear.
  • Set the closest available spawn.
  • Bring a group if you are near the lower end of the region’s level range.
  • Clear nearby threats so they do not join the boss fight.
  • Keep the Frozen Heart in the inventory until the interaction consumes it.

The boss can defeat an underprepared character repeatedly. A paid set-spawn option shortens retries, but it is not required. A group and the nearest normal spawn provide a safer no-premium plan.

Fight the Yeti without losing to the weather

Cold pressure continues while you fight. Treat the immunity timer as part of the boss mechanic.

Fight stateAction
Timer is healthyWatch the Yeti’s attack, dodge, then punish the recovery
Timer is falling lowStop forcing damage and move toward a campfire or safe reset
Boss turns to a teammateAttack from the side, but keep escape stamina
You are low levelUse a group and short confirmed attacks
Lantern does not dropRecharge, replace recovery items, and decide whether another Frozen Heart is worth farming

Let the Yeti commit to an attack, move outside its line, and answer with one reliable combo. Standing still to trade basic attacks is especially costly while the weather keeps draining health.

Visit the snow Breathing trainers

Iceveil also contains the Sound and Wind trainers. Sound Trainer Tengai waits on high cliffs and effectively requires Wall Climb. Wind Trainer Saneri is lower, on an icy platform near frozen water and a waterfall ledge.

Unlock Double Jump and Wall Climb before searching. Charge enough cold immunity for both the climb and the return. Trainer costs differ, with Wind requiring a large Demon Horn investment in the launch build, so locate the NPC and read the live requirement before farming.

Leave with one clear next step

After arriving, do one of four things:

  • Level with Tomoi, Shiro, or Mitsu until the next quest band opens.
  • Farm the Yeti for the Ember Heart Lantern.
  • Find Sound or Wind training after meeting the level and material requirements.
  • Search the region at night for a Demon-route objective such as Muzan.

Pick one for the first trip. Each objective uses different preparation, and the cold timer makes unnecessary detours costly.

Common Iceveil failures

  • Entering with healing but no frost protection.
  • Forgetting to charge the Ember Heart Lantern at a campfire.
  • Traveling to Mitsu before the earlier quest range is complete.
  • Starting the Yeti fight without setting a nearby spawn.
  • Assuming the 25 percent lantern chance guarantees a first-kill drop.
  • Climbing toward Sound Trainer without Wall Climb.
  • Letting the immunity timer expire far from a fire or exit.
